Defending Diversity: A Timeline of Affirmative Action

This October, a landmark case will decide the fate of race-conscious admissions at Harvard, with repercussions across higher education. Experts agree that race-blind admissions would drastically reduce the number of black and brown students on campuses across the country. In light of these events, join us for an afternoon of education on race-conscious admissions and celebration of the diversity at Harvard that is at risk.

Peruse the exhibit, enjoy student performances, and get plugged into future events on affirmative action on campus!

This event is hosted by the Task Force on Asian / Pacific American Studies (TAPAS) and the Committee on Ethnicity, Migration, and Rights (EMR).

#Activism or Slacktivism: Activism and Social Media on Harvard's Campus

Join Act on a Dream and the Diversity Peer Educators for our co-sponsored talk on the role of social media in activism! Social media usage is fairly ubiquitous on Harvard's campus, and many people use it in ways to disseminate their views on particular issues. Come discuss what you believe the role social media serves in activist settings, and whether it is helps or hinders causes. Everyone is welcome, whether you want to talk, listen, or do a little of both! Snacks will be provided, we hope to see you there!

This event is taking place tonight (Monday, October 2) at 7:00 pm in the Women's Center, which is located in the basement of Canaday B. No identities or experiences assumed.
